playing hooky & a half birthday

Unfortunately work has gotten the best of me recently and eaten into all my free time, so I haven't updated Noah's blog in way too long (my house is also a mess, my laundry is never folded and I am 9 weeks behind on Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and Revenge, sigh).

It's been exactly a month, and I am not even sure where to start.  So much has changed!  Noah started at his new day care the first week in June, and while I love his teachers, his attendance leaves something to be desired. The first week he managed to make it three out of five days, and last week it was only two out of five, which I guess is a nice, slow transition for him, but since they aren't pro-rating his tuition based on absencses and I still have a full time job, I hope this trend doesn't continue.  I am 99% sure he keeps sticking his butt up to a lamp because the 100.5 degree 'fevers' they call about never get above 99 for me or his pediatrician.  Nonetheless, per school policy he can't go back until he is 24 hours fever free.  In addition, he has had a few days of projectile vomiting (sorry for those with a weak stomach).  I hate to say that the vomiting isn't totally abnormal, but the first time this happened, I called the nurse on call, and she gave me a detailed protocol to get some fluid in him.  Now, having gone to college and some medical school, I consider myself moderately well educated, but these instructions were not easy to follow, which means at least half the people who were given the same guidance most definitely messed it up.  The good news is Noah has come through all of this unscathed and maintained a good attitude about the whole being 'sick' thing.
First day at Suzuki

Playing hooky? Me?

Noah had the pleasure of seeing my mom and Ben's parents in June.  He took Grandma and Grandpa Thompson to his Saturday play 2 grow class and Sunday music class.  It was my first time at music class too, and it was pretty entertaining.  Noah's the youngest in the class but loves watching the big kids and eating the instruments (we'll get to playing them eventually, I'm sure).

Right before turning 6 months, he started sitting up really well and over the past week has gotten more into playing with his toys while sitting up.  He also does this adorable hand flapping thing when he gets excited.   In addition, over the last month he has learned to love like the pool.  We try to go every weekend, and now that he is sitting up, he can splash/play in the baby pool and watch all the kids run around.

"Yes, I will take 4 bottles of milkie and 2 pouches of pears to go please"

There are a million more things I could say, but I'll let the pictures do the talking since I know the majority of you aren't even reading this because you're skipping straight to the photos (Vain?  Nah, I just happen to know my baby's adorable, which is exactly what all of you think/will think about your baby).

Highlights of the last month:
- Seeing the grandparents
- Starting Suzuki
- Sitting up
- 1st Father's Day (made dad an amazing card with a fish that looks strikingly similar to a handprint...)
- Stage 2 food (so far hating broccoli and spinach)
- Turning 6 months
- Discovering my feet
- Consonant sounds ("Ba" = I'm displeased and you better fix it)
